Watching Clearview Township Council

Meetings

Clearview Township council holds several types of meetings throughout the year. We track all of them. Agendas are sourced from the official township website at clearview.ca/events and meeting recordings are pulled from the township's YouTube channel after they're posted.

What We Track

Regular Council Meetings

These are the main decision-making meetings where council votes on bylaws, approves spending, and deals with whatever staff reports have been brought forward. They happen roughly twice a month, usually on Monday evenings. This is where the actual votes happen.

Committee of the Whole

Committee of the Whole is where most of the discussion happens before items go to regular council for a vote. Staff present reports, delegations make their case, and councillors ask questions (or don't). If you want to understand why council voted a certain way, the Committee of the Whole discussion usually has the context.

Planning Meetings

Public planning meetings deal with zoning amendments, official plan changes, site plan approvals, and development applications. These are the meetings where land use decisions get made, and they tend to be the ones with the most direct impact on property owners and neighbourhoods.

Special Meetings

Called as needed for budget deliberations, emergencies, or items that can't wait for the regular schedule. Budget meetings in particular are worth watching because that is where your tax rate gets set.

Meeting summaries will be posted here as they happen. Each summary includes what was on the agenda, what was discussed, what was decided, and our commentary on whether any of it makes sense. Subscribe to get them by email.

How to Watch Yourself

If you want to watch meetings directly, they are livestreamed and archived on the Township of Clearview's YouTube channel. Agendas are posted on the township website under the calendar section a few days before each meeting. We encourage everyone to watch at least one meeting in full. It will explain a lot about why this site exists.
